Although I’d come across many of the projects previously online there is something about the experience of luxuriating over images on a page that I will never tire of. Turning over each crisp new leaf of a large format coffee table book in which projects are presented as a thoughtfully curated selection somehow offers a more reflective perspective.

Odd selection of projects, most were common place interiors, others were sophomoric whimsy. It is a very large collection with only a few mildly interesting examples.

Situtated close to the Eiffel Tower, this Hotel Particulier designed by Pierre Yavanovitch exudes Parisian elegance. The graphic black and white flooring recalls Art Deco interiors of the early twentieth century but the space is uncompromisingly designed for contemporary living.

The book presents a study of the contemporary interiors world that is very much global in its outlook, but I found it interesting to observe how pronounced the regional differences in style are in many of the projects featured. A large number of them are very recognisably of a particular country.
