The first “0” emission Hotel in downtown Milan, the Hotel Milano Scala is a sophisticated boutique hotel featuring 62 rooms distributed on seven floors; 23 rooms have a view on Via dell’Orso, while the others face the inner courtyard and preserve the style and the charm of the old Milan.

Hotel Milano Scala is a chic and eco-friendly four-pearl boutique hotel located in one of Milan’s best (and most expensive) neighborhoods. Couples and business travelers stay here for the luxe rooms decorated with an opera theme and stocked with espresso machines, spa bathtubs, and minibars. Primadonna restaurant gets rave reviews for gourmet cuisine made with organic ingredients from the rooftop garden, where guests can relax and admire views of the nearby Duomo Cathedral. There’s a tiny fitness center and massage room, but no sauna or steam room. Breakfast and Wi-Fi are free. The property is one of the only zero emissions hotels in Italy, but it can be pricey for this category. If you seek a full spa at an upscale property in same great neighborhood, compare rates at nearby Boscolo Milano.

Okay hotel – thought it quite expensive for the mixed variety of rooms it offered. We travelled as a group and everyone has something quite different for the same price. Okay but not brilliant. Lovely roof terrace though for evening drinks.

Milan is a city known for its foodie culture and the Primadonna restaurant doesn’t disappoint. The restaurant makes every effort to use ingredients grown within a 65-mile radius; many of the fruits and veggies come straight from the rooftop garden. The breakfast buffet at La Traviata is included with the room price — live music is a fun touch. The rooftop garden is a beautiful spot; guests can sit near the lemon tree and take in the garden or panoramic views of the city. Back inside, the library lounge offers full service cocktails and wine. The fitness center has a handful of cardio machines, yoga balls, and some weights, but it’s tiny. There’s an adjacent treatment room for massages. Business travelers appreciate the three attractive meeting rooms with theater or boardroom style seating. If you must have full spa facilities, compare rates at the much larger Hotel Bulgari.

The hotel distinguishes itself from all the other not only by the spectacular interior décor but also by the fact that it’s the first one in Milan to produce energy without burning any fuel and without releasing CO2 into the atmosphere. This is possible thanks to renewable sources of energy that help with the air conditioning, the air treatment and the hot water production. The hotel is also thermally and acoustically insulated and meets the highest standards and regulations.

Shopping 10 Cities Every Shopaholic Needs to Visit Before They Die

If you’re visiting Milan to shop high-end boutiques, visit the Duomo cathedral, or eat at the best restaurants in the city, you can’t pick a much better location than the Brera district, and this hotel is only a quarter mile from the theater that it’s named after. Hotel Milano Scala is within a 10-minute walk to Via Montenapoleone, the Duomo, and Piazza della Scala. The immediate neighborhood includes quick access to the red, yellow, and green metro lines and a bus stop. Several shops, including a health restaurant selling quick smoothies and salads, is just outside the hotel’s front doors. As with most hotels in this part of Milan, there’s a charge for parking and reservations are required.

The hotel comprises a total of 62 rooms. There are 10 suites and junior suites. The rooms are scattered along the seven floors. Some of the rooms have terraces or balconies overlooking the courtyard or the garden. They all have air-conditioning, LCD screens, wi-fi access, a mini bar and a safe. The hotel also offers a top floor Sky Terrace. This rooftop terrace offers spectacular views of the city.

Just booked for a trip in November. My flight arrives from NYC at 7am. Can we drop off our luggage before the normal check in time?

The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience.

Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences.

If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

There are 62 stylish and eco-friendly rooms and suites inside the Hotel Milano Scala and each is uniquely designed with an opera or music theme. The classic room is a bit small but high ceilings, large windows, and a nice size closet make it feel more expansive. Espresso machines, minibars, and flat-screen TVs are standard. The marble bathroom has a single bowl sink and a bathtub/shower combination. For more space, upgrade to the two-level junior suite. A pullout sofa bed takes up a lot of space when it’s open but there’s extra living space when it folds back into a plush couch. Red theater-style drapes and a painted treble clef on the wall add interest. Some suites include large balconies with white metal furniture and romantic views of the city. However, the space is divided by potted topiaries making them less than private. Noise and cleanliness aren’t issues.

The interior design is inspired from the opera. There are many references to this domain all over the hotel. There are two entrances. One leads to the hotel’s lobby while the other one leads to the Lounge Bar. The guests can relax at the bar, have a cup of coffee and socialize with the others. They can also enjoy tranquil views to the courtyard or spend time on the living room listening to music.

I am not sure but you won’t have time to watch. See Milan and at night enjoy the hotel’s rooftop bar and nearby restaurants.1 vote

The Milano Scala hotel is located in Milan, Italy. The construction began in 2009 and the hotel was finished in 2010. It’s located in a historic area and it features a beautiful courtyard. The interior design was created by architect Luigi Marchetti CIBIC & Partners. The hotel could be best described as a very refined building with exquisite interior décor.

Hi There, We will stay with you guys from Oct 10-14. Can you tell me the cost of taxi from Hotel to Malpensa airport? We have a early flight to catch, need to be in the airport by 9:00am. Is taxi the best and easiest way? Thank you

Hotel Milano Scala opened in 2010 smack in the center of one of Milan’s most fashionable neighborhoods. The clientele here mostly consists of international tourists and business travelers, many of whom linger in the beautiful public spaces to see and be seen. The rooftop (with panoramic views of Milan) has a gorgeous terrace and full garden. Day beds topped with colorful pillows and wicker furniture look new. Inside, the library themed lobby lounge is a nice spot to sip an apertif and peruse one of the many art or opera books. A partial glass ceiling gives vertical garden views. Even the corridor walls get dressed up with chains, wallpaper art, or white crisscrossed molding. Thick gold braided rope with tassel ends replace traditional railings on the stairwells. The historic building was originally built in 1800, but has a modern feel throughout.
