Kendall Wilkinson Design’s team of highly trained designers brings a wealth of experience working across numerous interior design styles. From Modern to Traditional, and spaces that mix classic and contemporary elements, our experts bring our clients’ aesthetic aspirations to reality.

I have worked with Kendall on a large home, a city apartment and she helped design a boat interior without ever seeing the boat as it was custom constructed in Europe. Every project was handled with the highest level of professionalism. Her staff is very efficient and totally customer service oriented. She totally understands my sense of style and carries it out superbly each and every time. I might add, her designs are timeless, even ten years later! San Francisco is lucky to have her as she could be a huge hit on the East Coast. Bottom Line: Kendall is a super star!

As a first time customer to this store last week there won’t be a second visit. I am doing a substantial remodel in my home which is quite close to this store. I stopped in to make several inquires regarding their services. The young girl at the front needs to be given the memo on how to treat customers. She was rude and condescending. As a resident long before this store opened I find the haughty attitude comical. This stretch of Sacramento is a graveyard of businesses like this one that fold. Be nice, you never know who may be a future client young lady.

I have been working with Kendall Wilkenson Design for several years now on many different projects and I have yet to be disappointed with their high quality work. Kendall and Her wonderful staff are so easy to work with. Their design style is what I would call very innovative classic, comfortable and easy to live in. Love their attention to details, their high quality standards and great service to the end. I highly recommend that you give them a call for all of your decorating needs. Also check out their design store on the premises. Thank you Kendall

Kendall Wilkinson Design has extensive expertise in custom interior design. By blending classic lines with contemporary elements, we have created a fresh perspective in homes throughout San Francisco, the Carmel Valley, Peninsula, East Bay, and beyond.

As a San Francisco native and daughter of an interior connoisseur, Kendall’s passion for interior design started while studying abroad in Paris after leaving the movie industry. In Paris, Kendall became enamored by French architecture and antiques, and began traveling abroad extensively, importing select pieces to the United States. Over the years, Kendall’s signature line has been showcased in successive retail stores, including Patina Atelier, Threshold by Design, and now Kendall Wilkinson Home.

Located in a historic building made famous in 1958 by the Hitchcock movie “Vertigo”, Kendall Wilkinson Design created a modern-day homage to old New York. The stylish pied-a-terre features clean lined-architecture with plenty of elegance and drama. A demure but sparkling palette of fabric and finishes highlights an array of 1930’s and 1940’s Art Deco furniture, accessories and lighting.

The homeowner’s gracious nature set the tone for the interior design for this Pacific Heights Victorian. The home’s classical architecture was updated with a palate of warm neutrals and accents of citron and rose. Pop artist Russell Young’s edgy portrait of Elvis Presley hangs in the entryway. Two sofas in the living room were upholstered in vanilla velvet while an abstract painting infuses the space with energy.

Kendall Wilkinson Design updated this traditional family home to create a fresh, youthful interior while respecting its classic architecture. The overall color palatte was brightened with alabaster, gray tones and metallics. The living room features various tones of grey and a medley of differing textures and patterns.

The restoration of a classic 1913 Clay Ward home called for a design that maintained the integrity of the architecture but also created an interior space fit for a young, contemporary family. The 6,600 square foot home featured spectacular bay views and a lighter color palette was selected to mirror them. An array of antique and custom-designed furnishings was chosen to balance the modern with the classic.

I have had experience working with a couple different designers and Kendall is by far the best. Because she has so much experience and knows her resources, she was fast and found design solutions that fit our budget. As an added bonus, she has children of her own, so she understands how to design a house with them in mind which is extremely helpful. We have had Kendall help us with 3 homes. When we recently moved, she was great at taking our pieces and making them work in the new house–and, in our case, mixing contemporary and traditional design. She added interesting touches such as new/fresh wallpapers, accessories and recovered a few things to make the new house feel tied together. She also has an incredible eye for choosing the perfect paint colors and whizzed through our house with 3 different color wheels and made great choices taking in consideration the size of the room, light, etc.–a process that would have taken me many painful hours. One of my favorite things she did at the end of the design process in our first home was to go through the house and help with the small things–getting accessories for our kitchen counter, buying pretty matching soap dispensers for our master bath, beautiful waste cans, etc….it only took a short time and these little things made a big impact after all the furniture, carpet, paint was complete. She has a great eye for detail and I receive compliments all the time on her work.

European excursions inspire the designs of Kendall Wilkinson from time to time. Such was the case with her design of this grand living room designed for a San Francisco vignette. The custom curved button-tufted sofa reflects the moody gray-blue of the ocean and sky. The hand carved doors and vintage fireplaces of Old World Chalets compliment contemporary statements including a custom infinity mirror, sculptural tables, and a stunning elk skull crafted in bronze.

My family contracted with this company to design a TV Armoire when plasma tv’s were starting to take off but furniture was still stuck in the old ‘tube’ stage. A deposit of $3k or so was given and we had to sign a contract for hourly work with an arbitration clause. Not to long into the process we received a abrupt letter from Kendall Wilkinson stating that she was terminating the contract and provided about half our deposit and copies of rudimentary designs that were MADE FOR A TUBE TV! They were worthless to us. We wanted to goto small claims court but she claimed we had to use costly arbitration which would have cost more than the original estimate to produce the piece. In my opinion this behavior is unacceptable but you be the judge. I dare you..

The open floor plan of this grand Edwardian inspired home allows for seating areas in a palette of saltwater blue and violet, while still allowing the eye to travel outside to the city and bay views. Avid travelers and art collectors, an abstract oil painting by Giovanni di Paolo, inspired the smoky teal and aqua hues used throughout the main level. A monochromatic mix of textures and prints followed. Floor-to-ceiling oak paneling proved the perfect backdrop for their 18th and 19th century antique collection.

Since Kendall Wilkinson did our favorite room at the Decorator Showcase, we had to stop by her store Threshold after touring the mansion. Threshold is always a pleasure to visit and appreciate the great design items available for sale. She really mixes the pretty & classical with cool & modern very well. Even though some may be out of your price range, there is a nice selection of candles and small ceramic pieces that will fit any budget. The common denominator is that it is all chosen with excellent taste. I love the space and their bathroom is excellent!! Stop by next month when they will be totally redoing the store and incorporating some of the elements from the Showcase. For those with means, custom design is also available. When I hit the lottery, it’s a good bet that lots of items from Threshold will be crossing my threshold!

Our mission is to inspire and enrich our clients’ lives by creating artful, timeless, and fulfilling personal spaces.Over nearly twenty years, Kendall Wilkinson Design & Home has successfully managed hundreds of full-scale interior design projects. Our tight-knit team of thirteen is well-educated in interior design and interior architecture, furniture design, project management, communications, and finance. Our designers are trained in a variety of styles, from classical to contemporary, formal to playful, and are experts in creating authentic period looks or mixing modern pieces with older gems.Whether we are engaged in a full-scale remodel or customizing a furniture piece for a store client, our goal is to provide a well-conceived, functional design plan that can be implemented in a time frame, budget and style consistent with the client’s desires. We take pride in doing our work well and in enjoying the process.

Foyers, hallways, and stairwells often guide the aesthetic tone of a design project. Such was the case when Kendall Wilkinson was approached to demonstrate her talents in the Elle Décor Showhouse in San Francisco. Wilkinson chose to layer soft neutral tones on the wall, creating impact with textures and topped with infusions of coral, chartreuse, and dark ocean blue. Sculptural lighting and extraordinary works of art hung throughout the circulation areas of the home.

Designed for the San Francisco Decorator Showcase, this show-stopping project was inspired by a fictional muse described by Wilkinson as “a young, jet-setting woman with a passion for fashion.” The walls were painted a teal blue. For drama, orange accents were added including draperies in a coral toile fabric. Photographs by Mark Shaw of fashion models adorned the space. The focal point of the room was a delicate tree mural painted by a renowned local artist.

Kendall is amazing! I have worked with her on two home and countless “touch ups” and upgrades over 10 years. Her ability to balance “classic” style with modern, youthful touches is fresh and comfortable. The rooms she designs are elegant, yet are comfortable and “real” at the same time. Nothing feels overly “decorated” or overdone, it just comes together with a relaxed simplicity that shows true style. She has absolutely no “ego” about allowing the client to decide the direction they want (some designers have a certain look that they push hard), and never insists that her approach is “right.” She provides lots of options, works quickly and efficiently, and takes great care to make sure the final product comes together perfectly. I would recommend Kendall and her team without any hesitation.
